Prayer Team
Recruit 3-6 gifted people who will pray
corporately, on a regular basis for the renewed efforts of the congregation and for the neighborhood around the church.
It is usually helpful if the pastor meets regularly with this group at the beginning to coach/teach them the dynamics of prayer.
Research Team
The purpose of this team
is to research and talk with people in the community to develop a “picture” of the mission field; that is a portrait
of the hopes, dreams, concerns and needs of the community. This is a “networking” group that will make contact
with people in the community so that the congregation may clearly see the “mission field” around the church.
Strategy Team
The Strategy Team
should be a group of trusted leaders in the congregation. Their role is two-fold: one, to train the congregation
to share their faith story and invite; and two, to plan activities, programs and events that will be on target with the information
gathered by the Research Team.
Hospitality
Team
The work of the Hospitality Team is to make sure that the first time visits of guests is handled well.
The Hospitality Team is to make sure that guests “connect” with existing members and with other newcomers.
Members of this team should be extroverted people who can be welcoming and helpful to guests.
