Sunday School

Christian Education is a vital part of who we are at Mountain View.  Sunday School is offered each Sunday from 10:00 a.m.-10:45 a.m. for our children, youth, and adults.  We encourage everyone to attend and participate in Sunday School.

Children & Youth

Preschool children (ages 2-Pre K) use our United Methodist age appropriate curriculum, which includes hands-on learning, crafts, and games.

Children (grades K-5) participate in Cokesbury’s Power Express rotation Sunday School.  Our children study the same biblical story for an entire month but each week get to experience it in a whole new way.  Some of our rotations include storytelling, drama, cooking, art, science, and games.  This program reaches all children regardless of what their style of learning may be.

Jr. High (grades 6-8) & Sr. High (grades 9-12)
youth use a variety of materials that include everything from discussions to role portrayal.  We strive to reach our youth where they are by including current events in our classes.  We are committed to using our Cokesbury United Methodist curriculum.

Adults

DiscoveryA lively discussion-based class. Presently studying the New Testament, specifically, the writings of the Apostle Paul in the order they were written and how to apply his message today.

New Member
The principles and philosophy of Methodism and the structure of the United Methodist Church are discussed and this class is led by the Pastor.

Sojourners
This class has been going through the Bible, book by book, and is currently in the New Testament Books of 1st, 2nd and 3rd John.  The format is one of open discussion and sharing of personal insights.

Young Adult
College-aged and other young adults  have an opportunity to study God’s Word.  Lessons range from topical issues (such as Advent, Easter, etc.) to short-term lessons.
