Vacation Bible School

Our Vacation Bible School program is typically offered one week during the month of July.   Our whole church family works together to provide meaningful biblically based experience for our children in Preschool-5th Grades.

United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF)

Our mission is to provide a Christ-centered atmosphere for youth in grades 6th-12th and to have fun and fellowship while meeting new friends.   We promote building our youth into strong and effective leaders and disciples as they continues on their faith journey.

Our UMYF meets every Sunday evening from 5:30p.m.-7:00p.m.   After dining together the youth separate into two groups, Jr. Highs and Sr. Highs, for the evening's events.  We offer our youth opportunities to participate in ski-trips, weekend retreats, age-level appropriate programs, District & conference activities, youth weeks at United Methodist summer camps, summer mission trips, and many service opportunities.   Our youth plan and lead a youth worship service each spring.   Youth are a vital part of many activites.

Scouting

Mountain View is proud to support scouting ministries for both boys and girls.   The church makes its facilities available to local scout troops for meetings and other functions.   We encourage all youth who may be interested to join the scouts.   Mountain View is a proud sponsor local Cub Scout Pack 180 and Boy Scout Troop 180.

Confirmation

All youth in 6th Grade and over are invited to be part of our confirmation class.  Confirmation is held during the Sunday School hour beginning the second week in January.  Youth are confirmed on Pentecost Sunday (May or June).  Our confirmands are assigned adult mentors to help guide them through their faith journey.   An overnight retreat and special activities are part of the confirmation process.  Our primary curriculum is Cokesbury's "Claim The Name".
